damages

The wooden crucifix by Pietro da Rimini from the Chiesa dei Morti in Urbania (Urbino) had been sent to Florence before the flood to be restored. Just at this time, the flood catastrophe wreaked much greater damage on the crucifix. The inventory in the library of the Florentine synagogue, with 15,000 books and more than 200 manuscripts, was badly damaged. The nature of the material makes the restoration particularly difficult.
